Uttarakhand government announces implementation of state board curriculum in all madrasas and minority schools.
In a significant move aimed at strengthening inclusive education, the Uttarakhand government has announced that the Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UBSE) curriculum will now be implemented across all madrasas and minority-run educational institutions in the state. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami described the decision as a landmark step toward integrating minority students into the mainstream education system.
The initiative seeks to provide quality, modern, and employment-oriented education to students from minority communities, enabling them to compete effectively in higher education and future career opportunities.

Addressing a gathering at the Himalayan Cultural Centre on the occasion of World Minority Rights Day, CM Dhami emphasized that the state government is continuously taking decisive steps with student welfare as its top priority.
He informed that Uttarakhand has implemented a new Minority Education Act, under which students from minority institutions will be brought under a uniform and inclusive education framework aligned with state academic standards.

According to the Chief Minister, the introduction of the state board syllabus in madrasas will ensure that students gain structured knowledge in science, mathematics, languages, social sciences, and modern technical subjects.
“This reform will not only make students eligible for higher education but also help them perform better in competitive examinations,” CM Dhami said, adding that education remains the strongest tool for social and economic empowerment.

During his address, CM Dhami also referred to the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand. He termed it a historic initiative that promotes social justice, equality, and harmony, setting an example for other states across the country.
He stated that the UCC strengthens the spirit of equal rights for all citizens and contributes to a more cohesive society.
