CM Yogi promotes work from home, energy saving and swadeshi use in UP. New directives focus on self-reliance and sustainable governance.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued a series of major directives focusing on governance reform, resource conservation, and economic self-reliance. A key highlight of the announcement is the expansion of work from home practices across government departments and private institutions.
Work from home becomes key governance strategy
CM Yogi emphasized the need to adopt work from home culture in industries and startups where large workforce operations are involved. He directed that companies should encourage employees to work remotely for at least two days a week wherever possible.
He also instructed government departments to conduct meetings, seminars, and workshops through online platforms to reduce unnecessary travel and improve efficiency.
Work from home linked with fuel and energy saving
The Chief Minister highlighted that work from home policies will directly help reduce fuel consumption and traffic pressure. He also ordered a 50% reduction in government convoys of ministers, MPs, and senior officials to promote efficient use of resources.
A weekly “No Vehicle Day” was also proposed, encouraging public representatives to use public transport at least once a week.
Work from home and digital governance expansion
CM Yogi stated that work from home is part of a broader digital transformation strategy. Educational institutions and government departments have been instructed to adopt hybrid and online working models.
He also promoted electric vehicles, metro transport, carpooling, and PNG-based systems to reduce dependency on fossil fuels.

The Chief Minister connected wfh initiatives with the larger vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. He stressed the importance of promoting swadeshi products, ODOP items, and GI-tagged goods in government procurement and gifting systems.
He further urged citizens to prefer local products during festivals and weddings to strengthen the rural and local economy.
Energy conservation and sustainable development
Along with wfh, CM Yogi directed strict measures for electricity conservation in homes, government buildings, and commercial spaces. He emphasized reducing decorative lighting after 10 PM and increasing rooftop solar adoption under the PM Surya Ghar scheme.
He also encouraged natural farming and efficient use of organic resources such as cow dung from gaushalas.
wfh and tourism-led growth
The Chief Minister said wfh and digital working models should complement efforts to reduce unnecessary foreign travel. He encouraged promoting heritage, eco, and religious tourism within Uttar Pradesh through campaigns like “Visit My State.”
