Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi 17 Ultra alongside the Xiaomi 17 in India, marking a significant step in the company’s flagship smartphone lineup. Both devices feature advanced Leica camera systems, powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processors, and large batteries designed for heavy usage. The launch continues Xiaomi’s collaboration with Leica, now focused on co-creating optics, sensors, and photography workflows.
According to Xiaomi India, the goal behind the Xiaomi 17 Ultra was to deliver a premium smartphone experience without compromise, balancing performance, battery life, and top-tier photography. “While the Xiaomi 17 offers a compact flagship experience, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra pushes the boundaries of mobile photography with LOFIC sensor technology and continuous optical zoom,” said Sandeep Singh Arora, Chief Business Officer at Xiaomi India.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra Camera Innovations
The highlight of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is its first-ever 1-inch LOFIC camera sensor, engineered to capture more dynamic range and preserve details in challenging lighting conditions. Traditional smartphone cameras often struggle with scenes containing bright highlights and deep shadows, but the Xiaomi 17 Ultra addresses this with its high full-well capacity sensor.
In addition, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra features a Leica 200MP telephoto system with continuous 75–100mm optical zoom. This stepless optical zoom allows users to smoothly adjust focal lengths for precise framing while maintaining Leica APO standards to reduce chromatic aberration. The triple 50MP Leica camera system captures natural colors and detailed images, with a 60mm floating telephoto lens supporting AI-assisted zoom up to 20x. The device also includes a 50MP front camera with autofocus for enhanced selfies and video calls.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra starts at Rs 1,29,999, with SBI credit card discounts and early-bird offers including the Photography Kit Pro worth Rs 19,999 for buyers between 13–17 March. The Xiaomi 17 is priced from Rs 89,999, featuring free phone damage protection worth Rs 9,999 and a “Never Run Out” promotion where the 512GB model is priced the same as the 256GB variant during launch.
Both models will be available starting 18 March 2026 through Amazon, mi.com, and Xiaomi retail stores. Buyers will also receive partner benefits such as Spotify Premium, YouTube Premium, Google AI Pro subscriptions, and telecom perks from Reliance Jio.
