CM Yogi Adityanath reviewed EOW and directed no case to remain pending beyond 3 months, stressing accountability, fast action, and tech-based investigation.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the functioning and progress of the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) and issued strict directives to make the investigation of economic crimes more effective, time-bound, and result-oriented.
He clearly instructed that no case should remain pending for more than three months and accountability of officials must be fixed in such matters.
Focus on Fast Disposal of Pending Cases
During the review meeting, the Chief Minister assessed pending investigations, inquiries, arrests, and prosecution efforts. He directed officials to expedite the disposal of old cases and ensure swift action against wanted accused persons.
He also emphasized strengthening prosecution in cases where sufficient evidence is available to ensure higher conviction rates.
Strengthening Technology-Based Investigation System
CM Yogi stressed the need to modernize the EOW with advanced technology and a strong monitoring framework. He highlighted the importance of the Case Management System (CMS) for digital tracking, real-time monitoring, and transparent reporting of cases.

He said that technology-driven systems will improve transparency, efficiency, and accountability in investigations.
Strict Action Against Economic Crimes
The Chief Minister stated that financial fraud, cybercrime, cheating, and embezzlement not only affect government resources but also damage public trust. He directed strict and time-bound action against such crimes.
He further instructed officials to take strong action against Ponzi schemes, chit-fund scams, and online financial fraud cases.
Public Awareness Campaign to Be Expanded
CM Yogi also emphasized the importance of public awareness in preventing economic crimes. He directed that awareness campaigns such as “Awareness, Information, and Protection” should be expanded to educate people about cyber fraud and investment scams.
He added that training programs should use modern technology to improve awareness and prevention strategies.
