Yogi Adityanath slams Opposition over Ram Mandir donation row, says SIT action began immediately and no one will be spared if guilty.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday launched a sharp attack on the Opposition over the controversy surrounding alleged irregularities in donations made to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, saying action was taken immediately after the Special Investigation Team (SIT) submitted its report.

Addressing a public gathering in Deoria, the Chief Minister said the government acted swiftly once the SIT findings were received and assured that those found guilty would face strict punishment.

“The SIT report came and action started immediately. We will separate truth from falsehood,” he said.

‘Do not target Ayodhya or Ram devotees’

Taking a strong stance against political criticism, Yogi Adityanath said it was wrong to target Ayodhya or devotees of Lord Ram over the issue.

“Do not cast an evil eye on Ayodhya. Do not test the devotees of Lord Ram. If there is evidence, present it before the SIT,” he said, according to PTI.

He added that the government would not allow public sentiment or religious faith to be misused for political purposes.

‘No exemption for wrongdoing’

The Chief Minister said the matter was being treated seriously as it involved the faith of millions of devotees.

“Playing with public sentiment is unacceptable. Whoever tampers with the faith of Sanatan Dharma will have to face consequences. No exemption will be given,” he said.

Eight arrested in donation case

Meanwhile, police have arrested eight people named in an FIR linked to alleged embezzlement of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Officials said the arrests were made after the SIT submitted its preliminary report recommending criminal action. The FIR was filed by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which manages the temple.

SIT probe and allegations

The SIT had conducted a preliminary inquiry in Ayodhya between June 15 and June 20 before submitting its report. The case includes allegations of criminal breach of trust, cheating, theft and conspiracy under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The controversy was first raised by Opposition leaders, who demanded transparency in the handling of temple donations.
