“Today is a glorious day for parliamentary democracy, one to be proud of.” This oath is being taken in our new Parliament for the first time since our country’s independence.
Tomorrow is June 25th. On this day fifty years ago, the Constitution was marked with a black dot. We’ll work to prevent such a taint from ever entering the nation.
“A government has been given the chance to serve the nation for three consecutive terms for the second time since independence. This is the first chance in sixty years.
“We think that although a majority is necessary to govern, a nation must be run by consensus.”

Prior to the start of today’s first session of the 18th Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had a press conference.
Because this is the first time the oath ceremony has taken place in the new Parliament since independence, the prime minister opened his remarks by referring to the occasion as a proud and beautiful day in parliamentary democracy. The Prime Minister remarked, “On this historic day, I sincerely welcome all the newly elected MPs and congratulate everyone.”
The Prime Minister emphasized that the creation of this Parliament is a crucial chance to reach new heights and speeds with renewed fervor, characterizing it as a way to carry out the resolves of the Indian common man. He stated that in order to achieve the objective of creating a developed India by 2047, the 18th Lok Sabha is convening today. The Prime Minister stressed that 140 crore citizens are proud of the well-run election, which is the largest in history. The Prime Minister expressed his joy, saying, “More than 65 crore voters participated in the electoral process,” adding that this is only the second time since independence that the nation has elected a government to hold office for a third time. “It is a proud occasion in and of itself that this opportunity has arisen after 60 years,” he continued.
The third term of the administration was elected by the people, and Prime Minister Modi thanked them for their support, saying it was a testament to their aims, policies, and commitment to the people. The Prime Minister underlined, “We have tried to establish a tradition in the last ten years because we believe that a majority is required to run a government but consensus is extremely important to run a country.” He stated that the government’s unwavering goal has been to serve Maa Bharati by reaching an agreement and enlisting the help of all parties in order to realize the dreams and ambitions of 140 crore people.
With a focus on expediting decision-making while adhering to the Indian Constitution, the Prime Minister conveyed his satisfaction with the number of youthful Members of Parliament taking oaths in the 18th Lok Sabha. The Prime Minister emphasized the significance of the number 18 in Indian traditions, pointing out that it represents karma, duty, and compassion in the Gita’s 18 chapters, that there are 18 Puranas and Uppuranas, that the root number of 18 is 9, which represents perfection, and that the legal voting age in India is 18 years old. India’s Amrit Kaal is the 18th Lok Sabha. According to Shri Modi, “the formation of this Lok Sabha is also an auspicious sign.”
The Prime Minister noted that tomorrow, June 25, marks the 50th anniversary of the emergency decree and claimed that it is a stain on Indian democracy. According to Shri Modi, the younger generation in India would never forget the day that democracy was suppressed and the nation was transformed into a jail, entirely rejecting the Indian Constitution. In order to ensure that such an incident never happens again, Prime Minister Modi urged the populace to adopt a resolution to preserve India’s democracy and democratic traditions. “We will take the resolution of a vibrant democracy and fulfill the dreams of the common people in accordance with the Constitution of India,” declared the prime minister.
The Prime Minister emphasized that with the election of a third term of government by the people, the government now has three times more responsibility. He promised the people that in addition to working three times harder than before, the administration would produce three times as many outcomes.
The Prime Minister asked all of the newly elected MPs to take use of this chance for public service and welfare, noting the great expectations the nation has for them. She also urged them to act in the best interests of the people at large. Speaking about the opposition’s role, Prime Minister Modi stated that the nation’s citizens expect them to fulfill it to the best of their ability while upholding democratic principles. “I’m hoping the opposition can match it,” he continued. Shri Modi emphasized that the public prefers ideas than platitudes and expressed confidence that the Members of Parliament will work to meet the expectations of the general public.
The Prime Minister emphasized that it is the duty of all Parliamentarians to work together to uphold the values of a developed India and increase public confidence. According to him, the fact that 25 crore people are now out of poverty has given rise to a new confidence that India can prosper and end poverty quickly. “The 140 crore citizens of our nation never hesitate to put in long hours at work. The PM underlined, “We should give them as many opportunities as possible. He predicted that the 18th Lok Sabha will fulfill the aspirations of the average person and that this House would transform into a House of Resolutions. As he wrapped off his remarks, the prime minister congratulated the lawmakers and asked them to take on their new role with all of their might.
