CM Bhajan Lal Sharma has announced a grand celebration of ‘Rajasthan Diwas’ on the occasion of Nav Samvat Chaitra Shukla Pratipada on March 30, 2025, which will be celebrated with pomp and gaiety throughout the week. Deputy Deputy CM Diya Kumari welcomed the initiative.
During the discussion on the Finance and Appropriation Bill of Budget 2025-26 in the Rajasthan Assembly on Wednesday, the Chief Minister made several important announcements related to the Tourism, Art and Culture Department.
The Chief Minister announced the launch of ‘Bharat and Rajasthan Pehchaan Yatra Karyakram “to familiarise the citizens of the state, especially the youth, with the rich culture, heritage and historical and religious sites of the country.
Deputy Deputy CM Diya Kumari said that on the day of Nav Samvat Chaitra Shukla Pratipada in 1949, Iron Man Sardar Patel had established ‘Greater Rajasthan’ by integrating various princely states. Continuing the tradition, a budget of Rs 25 crore has been proposed for the week-long celebration of Rajasthan Diwas on March 30, 2025. Also, it has been decided to celebrate ‘Rajasthan Diwas “on Chaitra Shukla Pratipada in future also.
Several schemes will be implemented for the development of tourism and religious places in the state. Special development works will be carried out in Menar-Udaipur with an aim to promote rural tourism.
Apart from this, Ramanand ji’s umbrella at Gagron in Jhalawar will be conserved and restored. In Bharatpur, development works of Banke Bihari temple, Laxman temple and Ganga temple will be done. Extensive development works will be carried out at Shri Galtaji Mandir in Jaipur. The Bhairavji temple in Banswara (Bhawanpura, Anandpuri) and the Shiva temple clusters located on the mountain range of Bhurasiddha Maharaj in Alwar will be developed.
In Jaisalmer, a panorama of Sant Sadaram Ji Maharaj will be built in the cave. At the same time, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) properties located in Ajmer, Jaipur, Pali, Chittorgarh, Alwar, Churu, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Karauli, Rajsamand, Tonk, Sirohi, Jaisalmer and Baran will be activated under private participation.
The conservation, restoration and upgradation of the State Museum and Fort in Ajmer will be undertaken. Along with this, the road route from the entrance to Ambedkar Circle in Ajmer and various intersections will also be beautified.
