CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, during the discussion on the Finance and Appropriation Bill, announced that Rajasthan Day would now be celebrated on Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, the beginning of the Indian New Year. Referring to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s speech on March 30, 1949, he said that Patel gave priority to the unity of Rajasthan. With this decision, after 75 years, Rajasthan Day will be celebrated as per the traditional Indian date.
“GYAN” in priority
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the State Government is making continuous efforts for the development and prosperity of the people of the State. Adopting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Citizen First” policy, the budget has given priority to the poor, youth, farmers and women.
Rajasthan’s economy and GSDP targets
Accusing the Opposition of not having a substantive discussion on GDP growth, Shri Sharma said that Rajasthan’s economy is projected to reach $197 billion in 2024-25, $230 billion in 2025-26 and $350 billion by 2028-29. Given the current growth rate, this target will be achieved by 2030.
Absence of the Constitution Club and the Opposition
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma questioned the absence of the opposition at the launch of the Constitution Club and said it was a politically motivated decision to boycott the event.
Rising Rajasthan: Real Effort or Pretense?
The government described the “Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit” as important for the economic development of the state. Accusing the previous government of holding the summit just for show, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said his government signed investment agreements worth Rs 35 lakh crore in the first year, out of which projects worth Rs 2.24 lakh crore have started.
Speedy Implementation of Schemes for 2025-26
He informed that 82% of the announcements in the last budget have already been implemented and 68 announcements for 2025-26 have been approved.
The financial mismanagement of the previous government
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the previous government had kept pending payments of more than Rs 16,500 crore, which the present government is fulfilling.
A step towards a happy Rajasthan
The state government has invested far more than the previous government in agriculture, health, education, infrastructure and social welfare. Spending more than the national average on medical facilities and registering a decline of 10.61 per cent in women safety cases were also mentioned.
Review of Yamuna Water Project and decisions of the previous Government
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that efforts to bring Yamuna water are being successful and the Haryana government has constituted a task force for a joint DPR. Also, a high-level committee will be formed to investigate the wrong decisions of the previous government in urban development.
