Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has expressed deep grief over the loss of lives due to the recent natural calamity in the state. He directed the officials to provide financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
CM Yogi Adityanath also directed the officials to provide proper treatment to the injured and compensation to the victims.
According to the information received from the Relief Commissioner’s Office, on April 10, 2025, a total of 22 people died, 45 animals died and 15 houses were damaged across the state.
District-wise details of casualties:
Deaths due to lightning: Fatehpur and Azamgarh (03-03) Firozabad, Kanpur Dehat and Sitapur (02-02) Ghazipur, Gonda, Amethi, Sant Kabir Nagar and Siddharthnagar (01-01)
Deaths due to thunderstorm: Ballia, Kannauj, Barabanki, Jaunpur and Unnao (01-01)
Cattle loss: Ghazipur (17) Chandauli (06) Ballia (05) Ambedkar Nagar, Balrampur and Gonda (03-03) Sultanpur (02) Amethi, Kannauj, Gorakhpur (01-01) and Fatehpur (03 in fire incident)
Incidents of house damage Ghazipur, Sultanpur and Lakhimpur Kheri (02-02) Ballia, Gonda, Barabanki, Ambedkar Nagar, Gorakhpur, Auraiya, Hardoi, Lucknow and Mau (01-01)
Rates of compensation for loss of livestock:
- Large milch animals: ₹37,500
- Small milch or other useful animals: ₹4,000
- Large non-milch animals: ₹32,000
- Small non-milch animals: ₹20,000
The Chief Minister directed the officials to provide all possible assistance to the affected.
