Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presented the 10th consecutive state budget on Wednesday, emphasizing inclusive development and the welfare of every section of society. Highlighting the government’s achievements over the past nine years, CM Yogi Adityanath stated that this budget caters to farmers, youth, and women while ensuring economic growth and infrastructure development.
The UP Budget 2026 totals ₹9,12,696 crore, making it one of the largest budgets in the country. CM Yogi Adityanath noted that in nine years, no new taxes have been imposed, and the budget has tripled in size, reflecting the state’s rapid development. The overarching theme of this year’s budget is “Safe Women, Empowered Youth, and Prosperous Farmers.” Out of the total budget, ₹2 lakh crore has been allocated for capital expenditure to boost infrastructure and industrial development.

Key Highlights of the Budget

Industrial Development: Provisions have been made to enhance the capacity of four sugar mills, along with significant steps for overall industrial growth.

City Economic Zones: The budget introduces City Economic Zones to encourage cluster-based development and attract investment.

Investment & Employment: CM Yogi announced that over ₹50 lakh crore of investment has been planned in various sectors, creating employment opportunities and accelerating economic growth.

New Schemes & Expenditure: A total of ₹43,565 crore has been earmarked for new welfare and development schemes. Over ₹2 lakh crore will be spent on new construction projects to strengthen infrastructure and boost job creation.

Tax Reforms: No additional taxes have been levied in the last nine years. Complaints of tax evasion have been systematically addressed, ensuring transparency and compliance.
