He said that the biggest feature of democracy is that every person gets equal rights and freedom. But along with freedom, it is also necessary to perform duties. As long as we perform our duties honestly, our rights are protected.
Congratulating Amar Ujala for its successful journey of 77 years, the Chief Minister said that this dialogue platform would represent the sentiments of 25 crore people of the state. He also said that there is a need to think about the role of media in 2047 when the country will celebrate the centenary year of independence.
Describing Uttar Pradesh as the centre of faith of the country, the Chief Minister said the cultural and religious diversity of the state connects the entire country. In an event like Mahakumbh, devotees from all corners of the country and abroad also came, who were impressed by the hospitality tradition of the state and the arrangements made by the government.
He said that Uttar Pradesh has now become a riot-free state. Festivals of every religion, caste and culture are now celebrated with peace and enthusiasm. The state’s GSDP, which was Rs 12.75 lakh crore in 2017, has now reached Rs 30 lakh crore. Per capita income has more than doubled. At the same time, diseases like encephalitis have also been completely controlled.
He said that projects like ‘One District, One Medical College’, expressway, metro, rapid rail, inland waterway in the state indicate unprecedented development. More than Rs 15 lakh crore investment has come to UP so far and more than 500 investors have been approved through the single window system.
Uttar Pradesh has become a leader in the implementation of government schemes – be it free ration, Ayushman Yojana, or Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
He informed that UP has also made remarkable achievements in the field of MSME, food grains and sugar mills. Cane payments of Rs. 2.80 lakh crore have been made to farmers in the last eight years, which is much higher than the last 20 years.
The Chief Minister said that to build a self-reliant India, it is necessary to respect the national heroes, because the society which forgets its heroes, cannot move forward.
