CM Yogi Adityanath said that the MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) units of the state will have to constantly update themselves according to the needs of the changing market. Since Uttar Pradesh has the largest MSME base in the country, it is necessary to adopt a concrete strategy to empower the youth associated with it. He directed that before giving loans to new entrepreneurs under ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan’ (CM-YUVA), there should be good training arrangements for them.

He said that the MSME units of the state are not only strengthening the local economy but also working as ancillary units of big industries. At present, there are about 9.6 million MSME units active in the state, contributing 46% to exports and employing about 16.5 million people. He stressed on making the region strategically stronger to realize the vision of “Vocal for Local,” “Local to Global,” and “Brand UP.”

Under the ‘Mukhyamantri Swarojgar Yojana’, more than 31 thousand applications have been processed so far and margin money of 760 crore has been disbursed, which has created about 2.5 lakh jobs. He said that the reach of these schemes should be more to rural and backward areas.
