RAJASTHAN NEWS : The Minister of State (I / C) for Power, Shri Heeralal Nagar said that the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma is working towards making the State a power surplus State. He said that the state government did not allow any shortage of electricity in the state by making proper management during the Rabi season. He expressed confidence that even in this summer season, the officials of all the power corporations including generation, transmission, distribution will work in complete coordination to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the consumers.
Shri Nagar was reviewing the Energy Department at Vidyut Bhawan on Thursday. He said that speed should be increased in schemes like RDSS, smart metering, PM-KUSUM free electricity. Power theft should be effectively prevented by strengthening the power system, feeder separation as well as by conducting vigilance campaigns where there is excess power.
The Power Minister said that MoUs have been signed with various Central PSUs to meet the energy requirements of the State. He directed that these MoUs should be implemented in a phased manner at the earliest so that the future energy needs of the state could be met.
Shri Nagar also reviewed the progress of construction of grid substations announced in the budget by the State Government. He directed that the necessary procedures including land selection in GSS construction should be completed soon and the pace of works should be further increased so that the broadcasting system in the state could be further strengthened.
During the meeting, Managing Director of Power Development Corporation Om Kasera informed that the power supply system in the state is normal. Adequate arrangements have already been made to meet the power demand in view of the heatwave warning in the month of May and June. No cuts are being made anywhere due to adequate availability of electricity.
Shri Nathmal Didel, Managing Director, Broadcasting Corporation informed that the construction works of Grid Sub-stations are being completed on mission mode through effective monitoring. In the last one and a half years, a total of 30 grid substations of 400 KV, 220 KV and 132 KV have been set up in the state. In addition, work on 133 grid sub-stations is in progress at the site. He instructed the officials to complete the works within the stipulated time frame.
Shri Devendra Shringi, CMD, NTPC informed that MoUs have been signed with 11 different Central PSUs for projects in renewable energy and thermal energy. Out of which, JV agreements on projects with NTPC, Coal India and NLC have been executed and company formation is in progress. NTPC Rajasthan Green Energy Limited has been formed with NGEL. The company will invest Rs 1 lakh crore to set up 25 GW capacity in the renewable energy sector. Managing Directors of Jodhpur and Ajmer DISCOMs joined the meeting through video conference.
