Rajasthan Budget 2026 announces AI-based electricity monitoring, 3 lakh new water connections, signal-free cities, solar parks, and major urban & infrastructure projects.
The Rajasthan government has unveiled its 2026-27 budget with a strong focus on infrastructure, water supply, electricity, urban development, health, and tourism. The budget includes massive investments in new roads, bridges, solar parks, water connections in 6,500 villages, signal-free cities, PM Housing Scheme benefits, street lights, and drainage projects.
Infrastructure and Roads
The state government has allocated ₹1,800 crore for constructing new bridges and road networks. Non-patchable roads will receive ₹1,400 crore, while missing link roads will get ₹600 crore. An additional ₹500 crore is earmarked for repairing rain-damaged roads, and ₹500 crore will fund 250 Atal Pragati Path projects. To reduce accidents, 2,000 surveillance cameras will be installed with a budget of ₹100 crore.
Water Supply Initiatives
Rajasthan will introduce a new water policy, recruiting 3,000 contractual technical staff for the Jalday Department. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, 6,500 villages will be connected with piped water, costing ₹4,500 crore. Urban water infrastructure will be strengthened with an investment of ₹2,300 crore, and three lakh new household water connections will be provided next year.
AI-Enabled Electricity Monitoring
The government plans to set up six new 220 kVA GSS, 13 new 132 kVA GSS, and 110 new 33 kVA GSS. Two solar parks in Bikaner and Jaisalmer will be developed at a cost of ₹2,950 crore. Real-time electricity monitoring will be enabled through AI integration with the Ajmer DISCOM sector.
Signal-Free Cities and Urban Development
All divisional headquarters in Rajasthan will gradually be converted into signal-free cities. Jaipur alone will see development projects worth ₹1,000 crore, part of a total investment exceeding ₹2,300 crore. Under the PM Housing Scheme, 2.8 million families will receive housing grants. Over 5,000 new street lights will be installed, while drainage projects in Ajmer, Jaipur, and other cities will cost ₹1,020 crore. A master drainage plan has been allocated ₹40 crore, and 93 fire bikes worth ₹40 crore will enhance firefighting services. The Urban Transport Finance Fund will support improved urban mobility.
Education and “Magic Kit” Initiative
The government plans to construct toilets in all schools, renovate over 2,500 schools at a cost of ₹500 crore, and build 450 crore worth of new school buildings. School children will receive sports kits and “Magic Kits” at a budget of ₹323 crore.
Healthcare Enhancements
The government launched the ‘Raj Suraksha’ scheme to provide immediate medical assistance for accident victims with ambulances stationed at key highways. The ‘Raj Mamta’ program focuses on mental health and suicide prevention, with new mental health centers in Jaipur SMS Hospital and district hospitals. Colleges will get counselors, and village-level health camps will be conducted.

The JK Lone Hospital in Jaipur will get a new IPD tower worth ₹75 crore and a neonatal ICU. 1,000 new health department posts will be created, and ₹300 crore will be spent on fire safety in hospitals. Facilities for patients’ attendants in major hospitals will receive ₹500 crore, and the ‘Mokshvahini Scheme’ will ensure free transport of deceased bodies to homes.
Tourism Development
Tourism initiatives include ultra-luxury zones in Khudi (Jaisalmer) and new centers in Kuldhara. A Thar cultural circuit will link western desert cities, promoting desert tourism. Pilgrims visiting Khatu Shyam and Pushkar will get new entry facilities. Festivals will see ₹10 crore allocated for special aarti events. Bharatpur will host a ₹100 crore Brij Convention Center, Shekhawati heritage sites will get ₹200 crore for restoration, and Jhunjhunu will feature a new War Museum. Local folk festivals and women tourist safety programs with ₹10 crore funding are also planned.
Air Connectivity Expansion
Feasibility studies for new airports in Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Dig, and Bharatpur will be undertaken. Flying Training Organizations (FTO) will be established in Sawai Madhopur and Banswara. Around 25,000 women and youth will be empowered as Mini e-Mitr under digital initiatives, and a new IT policy will be implemented statewide.
Rajasthan Budget 2026 demonstrates a comprehensive approach to sectoral growth, integrating infrastructure, water, electricity, urban planning, healthcare, education, and tourism to ensure holistic development and modern governance.
