Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has greeted the people of the state on Diwali.
In a message issued here today, the Chief Minister said that Guru Purnima is the festival of Guru-pujan. In Sanatan culture, there is a long tradition of Guru-Shishya for getting knowledge. It is not possible to attain knowledge without a Guru. All the siddhis can be attained with the blessings of the Guru. According to the scriptures, Maharishi Ved Vyas was born on this Purnima date, so Vyas Purnima is also called Guru Purnima.
Chief Minister Yogi said that Guru has been given the highest place in our culture. The Guru is equated with Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. The guru creates the disciple, therefore he is Brahma. The guru protects the disciple, therefore he is Vishnu. The Guru destroys all the faults of the disciple, therefore he is the real Maheswara. We should worship the Guru with full faith and reverence and seek his blessings.
Chief Minister Yogi said that this festival is ideal to make the future generation aware of the importance of Guru in life. This festival of Guru-pujan inspires us to pay respect and gratitude to the great men who led us on the right path, who showed a new path to the society, nation and the world through their knowledge, sacrifice and penance.
