PUNJAB NEWS : In a firm step to maintain accountability and integrity in the education sector, the Punjab Government on Tuesday suspended Devi Prasad, Block Primary Education Officer (BPEO) of Baghapurana, after a video highlighting his misconduct went viral on social media.
The suspension was ordered by Secretary School Education, Punjab, Ms. Anindita Mitra, following the directions of School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains. The viral footage raised serious concerns about the officer’s behaviour, prompting swift departmental action.
Reiterating the government’s strict stance, Minister Bains said, “The Punjab Government has zero tolerance for negligence or misconduct in the education system. Any official found violating rules or neglecting duties will face strict action.” He added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state is committed to maintaining discipline and upholding the highest ethical standards in school administration for the welfare of students and staff.
