PUNJAB NEWS : On Independence Day, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann paid homage to Guru Sahiban and the warriors who laid down their lives for the nation’s freedom, saying Punjabis have always sacrificed for the country’s independence and for safeguarding religion.
Hoisting the National Flag at the state-level celebration in Faridkot, Mann announced that the families of martyrs will be given an honorarium of ₹1 crore by the Punjab government. He also felicitated officials from different departments for their service, along with the families of freedom fighters and other distinguished personalities.
Highlighting the government’s development agenda, Mann said Punjab has received investment worth ₹1.14 lakh crore, which will generate employment for nearly 4 lakh youths. He added that taxpayers’ money is being dedicated solely to the all-round growth of the state.

On road safety, the Chief Minister pointed out that the creation of the Sadak Suraksha Force has helped reduce accident-related deaths in Punjab by 48%. He also announced the upcoming construction of 19,000 km of new roads across the state.
Mann underlined the government’s strong stance against drugs through the War Against Drugs campaign, which has resulted in the arrest of numerous traffickers. He further said that the establishment of Aam Aadmi Clinics and Schools of Eminence is ensuring quality healthcare and education, positioning Punjab as a frontrunner in these sectors.
