Ginetta’s G10 RM Brings Classic Racing Spirit BACK to the Road
When it comes to sports cars, enthusiasts are spoiled for choice. From JDM cult classics like the Toyota GR Supra to precision-engineered German machines like the Porsche Cayman, there is a car for every kind of gearhead. But for those craving a classic British sports car without the hassle of sourcing parts or constant roadside maintenance, the options narrow—typically to brands like Morgan or Lotus.

Enter Ginetta, a small British manufacturer that has quietly redefined what it means to remaster a classic sports car. In 2019, the company unveiled the G10 RM, a modern reinterpretation of one of its most celebrated classics, designed for a select group of discerning collectors.
A Rich History in British Sports Cars
Ginetta’s story begins in 1958, when four brothers founded the company in the United Kingdom with a mission to design and build classic British sports and race cars. Their first production vehicle, the G2, debuted the same year as a Formula Ford-style racer intended for track enthusiasts. By 1959, Ginetta launched the G4, a small two-seater reminiscent of the MG MGA and Austin Healey, equipped with advanced features like front disc brakes and coil spring suspension.
The G10, Ginetta’s next landmark model, marked the company’s ambition to compete internationally. Seeking success in American racing, Ginetta fitted the G4 chassis with a 4.7-liter Ford V8 sourced from a Shelby Mustang. The result was the G10, a machine that proved its mettle immediately, securing pole position and winning its first race at Brands Hatch in 1965, even outperforming the iconic Jaguar E-Type.
