Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma has approved over ₹1,000 crore in compensation for 50 lakh farmers affected by crop losses in 31 districts. Relief will be disbursed through SDRF and directly transferred to farmers’ bank accounts without delay.
In a major decision aimed at providing relief to farmers, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has approved a compensation package worth over ₹1,000 crore for more than 50 lakh affected farmers across 31 districts of Rajasthan.
The state government stated that there will be no delay in the disbursement of relief funds this time. The compensation was approved immediately after the damage assessment was completed to ensure quick financial assistance to farmers.
Relief Amount to Be Transferred Directly to Farmers’ Bank Accounts
According to the official order, the relief amount will be distributed through the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). The government has also approved a proposal to declare villages with heavy crop losses as “distress-affected areas.” Under this scheme, eligible farmers will receive compensation directly in their bank accounts, ensuring transparency and timely assistance.
Chief Minister Sharma has instructed all district collectors to promptly complete the survey reports, prepare eligibility lists, and finalize payment procedures so that the relief amount reaches farmers without delay. An official from the Chief Minister’s Office confirmed that the government has taken all necessary measures to ensure faster and more efficient relief distribution compared to previous years.

Farmers No Longer Have to Wait for Years
The Rajasthan government highlighted that during previous administrations, farmers often had to wait up to three years to receive compensation for crop damage. However, the current government has digitized and simplified the entire process to ensure that payments are directly credited to farmers’ accounts without any middlemen or procedural delays.
This decision brings major relief to farmers affected by heavy rains during the Kharif season, which caused significant losses to crops such as soybean, moong, urad, maize, and cotton.
CM Bhajanlal Sharma’s Statement
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said, “Our government stands firmly with the farmers. We understand their pain and hardships. Every eligible farmer will get compensation directly into their bank account without delay. Transparency and timely action are our top priorities.”
This move is being seen as a significant step to support the agricultural community and strengthen rural economies affected by climate-related crop damage.
