Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma, held a series of high-level meetings in New Delhi on Thursday with key Union Ministers, emphasizing new initiatives to boost the state’s growth in areas such as urban development, energy, water projects, and skill development.
During his visit, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma met with Union Minister of Energy, Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Shri C. R. Patil, and Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Education, Shri Jayant Chaudhary. The discussions focused on strategies and projects that aim to give Rajasthan’s development a fresh momentum.
Focus on Energy and Urban Development
In a detailed meeting with Minister Manohar Lal and senior officials, Chief Minister Sharma discussed the vast potential of Rajasthan to achieve India’s solar energy targets and explored ways to strengthen electricity transmission across the state. Officials highlighted the enhancement of tower base compensation for farmers up to 400% of the DLC rate, while corridor compensation has been structured at 30% in rural areas, 45% in municipal regions, and 60% in municipal corporation zones.
The meeting also noted a significant reduction in AT&C (Aggregate Technical & Commercial) losses in Jaipur and Ajmer DISCOMs, which have now fallen below 15%. Additionally, the implementation pace of the RDSS (Reforms-Linked Distribution Sector Scheme) has improved, reflecting a robust energy management framework. Chief Minister Sharma expressed gratitude to the central government for its continued support in Rajasthan’s energy development and discussed the approval of DPR for Jaipur Metro Phase-2.

Water Projects and Jal Shakti Initiatives
In a meeting with Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Shri C. R. Patil, Chief Minister Sharma discussed projects related to water supply, water conservation, and management. Progress updates on the Firozpur Feeder Relining Project and Ramjal Setu Link Project were reviewed. Both leaders appreciated the success of the “Karmbhoomi Se Matribhumi” campaign, which aims to integrate citizen participation with sustainable water and development initiatives.
Skill Development and Entrepreneurship
Later, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma met with Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary to deliberate on making Rajasthan a Skill Development Hub with the support of the central government. The discussions focused on creating a roadmap that leverages central schemes to strengthen vocational training, entrepreneurship, and education, aiming to empower the youth and boost employment opportunities in the state.
