Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar highlights NDA’s commitment to industrial growth, jobs, infrastructure, health, and women empowerment while thanking PM Modi for continued support. He outlines achievements from the past 20 years and promises faster progress ahead.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday reiterated the state government’s commitment to accelerating Bihar’s all-round development, emphasizing industrial growth, employment generation, agricultural expansion, and rural–urban transformation in the next five years. He was addressing the Bihar Assembly during a debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s joint address.
Praises Central Support, Extends Gratitude to PM Modi
CM Nitish Kumar expressed deep appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Centre for extending special financial assistance to Bihar under various budgets and packages. He urged all MLAs to join him in acknowledging the Centre’s contribution.
“In the July 2024 budget, the Centre announced special financial aid for improving roads, industries, health, tourism, and flood control. The February 2025 Union Budget also proposed establishing a Makhana Board, developing airports, and supporting the West Kosi Canal project,” Kumar noted.
He also expressed pride that Bihar hosted the Khelo India Youth Games, describing it as a recognition of the state’s growing capabilities.
Jabs at Opposition Over Reluctance to Acknowledge Centre’s Support
During his speech, Nitish Kumar lightheartedly criticized opposition members for refusing to raise their hands in appreciation of the Prime Minister.
“Why don’t you all raise your hands? The PM and Centre’s help is benefitting the entire state,” he said, triggering laughter across the Assembly.
Kumar also referred to his past political partnerships, clarifying that his ties with the BJP and NDA were now stronger than ever.
“I will never switch sides again,” he said, indirectly acknowledging his previous alliances with the RJD-Congress Mahagathbandhan in 2015 and 2022.
