Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena and Congress MLA Dindayal Bairwa inaugurated the new Trauma Center and Emergency Unit at Dausa District Hospital, emphasizing politics-free development and improved healthcare facilities for residents.
Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena and Congress MLA Dindayal Bairwa jointly inaugurated the newly constructed Trauma Center and Emergency Unit at Dausa District Hospital, built at a cost of approximately ₹7 crore. This marked the first occasion after the assembly by-elections where the two leaders appeared together on the same stage, exchanging cordial greetings.
Addressing MLA Bairwa, Dr. Meena emphasized the importance of politics-free development, stating, “Development should not be influenced by political considerations. Any project you undertake, I will fully support.” He further assured that while he would assist in all development works, it is also the government’s responsibility to safeguard its officials from political complications.
Congratulating MLA Bairwa on his recent electoral victory, Dr. Meena highlighted that democracy inherently involves wins and losses and that collaborative efforts are essential for the region’s overall progress.
On agricultural matters, Dr. Meena acknowledged the challenges in fertilizer supply but reassured that farmers’ needs are being prioritized. Addressing concerns regarding the Doongri Dam controversy, he clarified that contrary to rumors about 78 villages being relocated, only 9 villages will be affected, and residents will be provided with housing, land, and livestock as per their preference. He added that the dam’s planned storage capacity has been reduced by 10 meters in the public interest, and the project will catalyze industrial development along the Jaipur-Bandikui corridor, including a new expressway connecting Dungarpur village to the Barmer refinery on the Delhi-Mumbai route.
Under the ERCP initiative, water supply from Isarda to Dausa is expected to be fully operational within 6 to 8 months, linking 13 major dams in the district. This project will benefit 17 districts and irrigate approximately 4.28 lakh hectares of land. Dr. Meena also humorously addressed minor hospital water supply issues, bringing light moments during the program.
Highlighting the urgent need for the Emergency Unit, Dr. Meena noted that the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Jaipur-Agra, and other major highways pass through the district, leading to frequent accidents. The current 362-bed hospital will soon be expanded to 500 beds, and the under-construction IPD tower will feature nine specialized operation theaters catering to various medical needs.
MLA Dindayal Bairwa stressed the importance of improving hospital facilities and completing pending projects promptly to ensure better patient care. During the inauguration, the hospital staff welcomed the Agriculture Minister with a 21-kilogram floral garland. The event was attended by BJP officials, local representatives, members of the Nursing Association, and hospital staff in large numbers.
