Delhi CM Rekha Gupta announced that traders received ₹915 crore GST refunds in just four months, along with new reforms, three upcoming industrial zones, and collateral-free MSME loans up to ₹10 crore to boost ease of doing business in the capital.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday (28 December) reaffirmed her government’s commitment to strengthening Ease of Doing Business in the national capital. She announced that over the last four months, traders in Delhi have received ₹915 crore in GST refunds, reflecting the administration’s push to reduce unnecessary hurdles for business owners.
Speaking at the centenary celebration of the Friends Colony Industrial Area, CM Gupta highlighted that her government is continuously working to accelerate industrial growth and create new employment opportunities for Delhi’s youth.
Three New Industrial Zones to Boost Employment
The Chief Minister stated that the Delhi government will soon develop three new industrial areas, expected to generate thousands of jobs. According to her, “a strong industrial sector forms the foundation of a strong economy.”
Over the past 10 months, several crucial reforms have been introduced to streamline business operations. These include:
Simplified licensing procedures
Enhanced transparency
Introduction of a single-window clearance system
These changes aim to reduce approval timelines and make it easier for industries to function in the capital.
Delhi Establishes First-Ever Trader Welfare Board
CM Gupta announced the formation of Delhi’s first Trader Welfare Board. With this platform, traders and industrial associations can directly convey their concerns and suggestions to the government.
She emphasized that her administration believes in active dialogue with industry leaders to find practical, long-term solutions for business challenges.
MSMEs to Get Collateral-Free Loans Up to ₹10 Crore
In a major relief for micro and small enterprises, the Delhi government has introduced a scheme that will allow MSMEs to access collateral-free loans up to ₹10 crore. The initiative aims to provide financial support to small business owners, helping them expand operations and remain competitive.
CM Gupta also revealed that the GST department has adopted a faceless system to speed up refund approvals. As a result, ₹915 crore worth of GST refunds were released within just four months.
The event was attended by Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra, Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, several MLAs, and representatives of major industrial organisations.
