On National Youth Day, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the ‘Swadeshi Sankalp Run’ in Dehradun, urging youth to embrace discipline, support local products, and contribute to India’s development initiatives like Skill India and Make in India.
On the occasion of National Youth Day, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the ‘Swadeshi Sankalp Run’ at Gandhi Park, Dehradun, inspiring young citizens to embrace discipline, local products, and national development initiatives.
During the event, CM Dhami paid homage to Swami Vivekananda by offering floral tributes to his portrait. He highlighted the enduring relevance of Vivekananda’s call to action – “Arise, awake, and stop not until the goal is achieved” – as a guiding principle for youth to contribute toward building a strong and progressive India.
Promoting Local Products and Vocal for Local
CM Dhami honored organizations that promote Swadeshi (indigenous) products and called upon citizens to make the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign a mass movement. He emphasized that youth participation is crucial to advancing initiatives such as Startups, Make in India, and Skill India, which collectively aim to strengthen the nation’s economy and global standing.

Youth as a Pillar of India’s Growth
Highlighting the vision for India’s development, CM Dhami said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the country is steadily moving toward becoming a developed nation. Call for Discipline and National Duty
Addressing young participants, CM Dhami urged them to stay away from substance abuse, embrace discipline, and focus on education and skill development. He reminded youth of their responsibilities toward the nation, encouraging active participation in nation-building efforts while promoting ethical and socially responsible behavior.
