This initiative marks a historic step toward making citizen services more accessible, transparent, and efficient at the Panchayat level. In the first phase, Aadhaar services will be introduced in 1,000 Gram Panchayats across the state, with plans to expand this facility to all 57,694 Gram Panchayats of Uttar Pradesh in a phased manner.
To ensure smooth implementation, the Panchayati Raj Department is conducting extensive training programs for Panchayat assistants. Over 800 assistants have received initial training, while training for others is ongoing.
A Step Towards Simplifying Rural Life
According to Panchayati Raj Minister Omprakash Rajbhar, introducing Aadhaar services at the village level is a significant step toward simplifying rural life. This initiative will save time and resources for villagers and empower Panchayats to function efficiently and self-reliantly.
Digital Empowerment of Panchayats
Amit Kumar Singh, Director of the Panchayati Raj Department, stated that this move is part of the department’s broader commitment to digitally empower Gram Panchayats. The introduction of Aadhaar services at the Panchayat level will serve as a milestone in transforming these local bodies into comprehensive citizen service centers. In the coming years, the benefits of this initiative are expected to reach every village in Uttar Pradesh, furthering the goals of Digital India and empowered Panchayats.
This strategic initiative by CM Yogi Adityanath aligns with the state government’s vision of a digitally inclusive society, where citizens can access essential services conveniently within their own villages.
