AAP launches “parivartan lao, kisaan bachao” campaign from Somnath to address MSP, irrigation, electricity, and trade deal issues affecting farmers.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced the launch of its statewide campaign, “parivartan lao, kisaan bachao”, starting tomorrow from Somnath. The initiative aims to raise awareness about farmers’ critical issues that have persisted for over three decades.
AAP state president Isudan Gadhvi, in a video message, highlighted the challenges faced by farmers, including inadequate crop pricing, failure of procurement at MSP, black marketing of seeds and fertilizers, sale of adulterated inputs, exploitation at APMC markets, irregular electricity supply, and unresolved loan issues. He also expressed concern over the potential negative impact of the India–US trade deal on farmers, livestock owners, and laborers.
The campaign will be led by AAP farmer leaders Praveen Ram and Manoj Sorthia, and is scheduled to conclude in Gandhinagar on March 8. Various party leaders and workers will join the journey at different stages, creating a unified front for farmers’ welfare.
Isudan Gadhvi further emphasized that the campaign would encourage citizens from rural areas, including farmers, laborers, and sharecroppers, to join without political bias. He stated that participation in the campaign would serve two purposes: first, to pressurize the government to address farmers’ issues, and second, to raise awareness among farmers about their rights and the potential repercussions of unfavorable trade agreements.
The campaign will also spotlight critical issues such as irrigation, high-tension electricity lines, compensation policies, and police action, ensuring comprehensive dialogue on farmers’ grievances. All updates related to the campaign will be shared across AAP’s official social media platforms.
Gadhvi urged maximum participation, stating that joining the Somnath-to-Gandhinagar march would allow farmers and supporters to actively contribute to the struggle for farmers’ rights and welfare.
