Purpose-Built Model: The fleet features the Eicher Pro-X range, a compact electric small truck co-created and custom-designed specifically for high-frequency e-commerce logistics.
Middle-Mile Operations: These trucks will manage the critical transition of goods moving between Amazon’s large fulfillment hubs (located on city outskirts) and localized micro-fulfillment centers (MFCs) closer to customers.
Daily Performance:
Range: Expected to cover 100–180 km daily across multiple operational trips.
Charging Efficiency: Equipped with fast-charging capabilities that fully power the vehicle in approximately 50 minutes.
Strategic Rollout & Expansion Synergy
Initial Target Markets: The initial fleet deployment is concentrated across prime metro clusters, starting with Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.
Quick Commerce Push: The EV deployment aligns with Amazon’s aggressive plans to expand Amazon Now to 100 cities across India and scale up its network to over 1,000 micro-fulfillment centers.
Future City Expansion: Next-phase deployments will extend into cities like Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kochi, Mangaluru, and Visakhapatnam.
