CM Yogi reviews UP Data Center, Project Ganga and wheat processing, warns of El Nino impact and stresses strong food grain storage system in UP.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired a high-level review meeting focused on three major development pillars—UP Data Center Cluster (UPDCC), Project Ganga, and wheat in-house processing policy—while also issuing a warning regarding the possible impact of El Nino on future agricultural output and food security.
El Nino Alert: Strengthening Grain Storage Systems
During the meeting, CM Yogi Adityanath highlighted concerns over the possible adverse effects of El Nino on crop production in the coming years. He directed officials to strengthen the state’s grain storage and food security infrastructure to ensure adequate preparedness against any agricultural disruption.
He stressed that Uttar Pradesh must maintain robust food reserves to safeguard farmers and consumers from potential supply shocks.
UP Data Center Cluster: Building an AI Powerhouse
A major focus of the discussion was the UP Data Center Cluster (UPDCC), which aims to position Uttar Pradesh as a global hub for artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and high-tech digital infrastructure.
The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the project should not be limited to NCR regions and must be expanded across the state, including Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority (BIDA) areas. He also emphasized engaging major tech companies to develop Lucknow as an emerging “AI City.”
Officials informed that the initiative is part of a long-term vision to transform UP into a global AI compute and digital manufacturing hub, targeting a multi-trillion-dollar digital economy by 2040.

Project Ganga: Rural Digital Transformation Push
CM Yogi Adityanath also reviewed Project Ganga (Government Assisted Network for Growth and Advancement), a flagship initiative to expand high-speed broadband connectivity in rural Uttar Pradesh.
The project aims to create thousands of Digital Service Providers (DSPs), generate large-scale rural employment, and enable services like telemedicine, digital education, e-governance, and cloud-based solutions.
The government plans to connect over 20 lakh households with fiber-based internet and ensure women’s participation in nearly 50% of digital entrepreneurship roles.
Wheat Processing and Agri Value Addition
The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath further reviewed policies related to wheat in-house processing and mandi reforms, emphasizing modernization of grain markets and improving cleanliness, infrastructure, and efficiency.
He noted that Uttar Pradesh is India’s largest wheat producer, yet a significant portion of produce leaves the state without value addition due to limited processing capacity.
Improving local processing, he said, would increase employment, tax revenue, and industrial growth within the state.
