Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora today laid the foundation stone for the installation of a Persian wheel on the Ghaggar branch in Akbarpur village under the Sunam constituency. The initiative aims to strengthen irrigation facilities and ensure better water access for local farmers.

Major relief for 250 farming families

With the installation of the Persian wheel, canal water will be directly supplied to the agricultural fields of nearly 250 farmer families in the region. This is expected to significantly improve irrigation availability and reduce dependence on groundwater sources.

Local residents appreciated the initiative and expressed gratitude towards the Punjab government and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for focusing on rural development and farmer welfare.

Step towards improving irrigation infrastructure
