Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh conducted an unannounced inspection of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in Amritsar to review the healthcare services being provided to patients and to assess the overall functioning of hospital wards.
During the visit, the Health Minister interacted with doctors and hospital staff and instructed them to ensure that every patient receives timely, quality, and compassionate medical care without any negligence. He emphasized that patient welfare must remain the highest priority in all government healthcare institutions.
Dr. Balbir Singh also directed the hospital administration to ensure maximum benefit of the Chief Minister Health Scheme so that eligible patients can access free and quality treatment without financial burden.

He reiterated that the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is committed to strengthening public healthcare infrastructure across the state. The focus remains on ensuring 24-hour emergency services, improved treatment facilities, and modern healthcare systems in government hospitals.
The Health Minister stated that continuous monitoring and accountability are being enforced to improve service delivery in hospitals. He added that the government is working with dedication to make Punjab’s public health system more efficient, transparent, and patient-friendly.
He further said that surprise inspections will continue in the future to ensure discipline and service quality in all healthcare institutions.
