Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to transforming public education, saying that education is much more than a government portfolio for him—it is his lifelong passion and mission to improve the lives of students.
Highlighting the achievements of the Punjab Model of Education under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Bains said the state’s focus remains on delivering quality education through transparency, accountability, and measurable academic outcomes.
The minister pointed out that Punjab is the only state in India that publicly releases the official data of government school students who qualify prestigious national entrance examinations such as NEET and JEE every year. According to him, this initiative reflects the government’s commitment to maintaining transparency in the education system while allowing citizens to evaluate the performance of public schools through verified results.
Harjot Singh Bains said the success of government school students in competitive examinations demonstrates that access to quality education can transform lives regardless of social or economic background.
