Aman Arora highlights Punjab’s merit-based government jobs, employment initiatives and ₹25 crore skill development budget under CM Bhagwant Mann.
Punjab Cabinet Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab President Aman Arora has highlighted the Bhagwant Mann government’s efforts to create a supportive environment for employment and expand opportunities for the state’s youth.
Speaking on the government’s employment initiatives, Arora said the Mann government had promised to build an environment where young people could access better career opportunities and claimed that the government has delivered on this commitment through various measures.
Government Jobs Based on Merit
Aman Arora said the Punjab government has focused on providing government jobs to deserving candidates through a fair and merit-based recruitment process.
He stressed that eligible youngsters are being selected on the basis of merit, describing this approach as a key part of the government’s employment policy. According to Arora, the focus on merit is intended to ensure that capable candidates receive opportunities without compromising the fairness of the recruitment process.

Punjab’s Employment Work Praised by Centre
The AAP Punjab president also highlighted the recognition received by Punjab for its work in the employment sector.
Arora said the Central Government has repeatedly appreciated the work being carried out in Punjab on employment-related initiatives. He presented this recognition as an indication that the state’s efforts to expand employment opportunities are receiving attention beyond Punjab.
₹25 Crore Allocated for Skill Development
Another major point highlighted by Aman Arora was the government’s focus on skill development.
He said that for the first time in Punjab’s history, the Mann government has allocated a budget of ₹25 crore for skill development. The allocation is aimed at strengthening opportunities for young people to acquire skills that can help them become better prepared for employment.
Skill development is an important part of improving employability, particularly as job requirements continue to change across different sectors. By investing in training and skills, the government aims to help young people improve their capabilities and access wider career opportunities.
Focus on Jobs and Youth Skills
Arora’s remarks underline the Punjab government’s stated focus on two key areas—merit-based government recruitment and skill development.
While government jobs can provide employment opportunities to eligible candidates, skill development can help young people prepare for jobs across a broader range of sectors. The government’s employment strategy, as outlined by Arora, therefore places emphasis on both recruitment and building the skills needed for future opportunities.
Aman Arora said the Mann government remains committed to creating a conducive employment environment in Punjab and ensuring that deserving young people receive opportunities based on merit.
The minister’s comments come as the state government continues to highlight employment generation and skill development as important priorities for Punjab’s youth.
