Isudan Gadhvi announces Plan B of Dushkal Ghoshna Satyagraha, with AAP teams set to reach 108 drought-hit talukas and villages across Gujarat.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Gujarat has announced the next phase of its campaign demanding a drought declaration for affected areas of the state. AAP Gujarat president and farmer leader Isudan Gadhvi announced Plan B of the Dushkal Ghoshna Satyagraha during a media interaction in Khambhalia.
Gadhvi said the movement, which had been underway for five days, would now expand from the protest site to villages across 108 drought-affected talukas. The party has formed 108 teams to take the campaign to the grassroots level.
AAP Teams to Visit Villages
Under Plan B, AAP leaders and workers will travel to villages and hold meetings with farmers and livestock owners. According to Gadhvi, separate teams will work at the taluka and village levels to gather information about the difficulties being faced by people in drought-affected areas.
The Dushkal Ghoshna Satyagraha will also focus on collecting applications from farmers seeking recognition and relief for drought-related losses.
Gadhvi said applications would be collected until October 1. He added that he himself plans to visit almost all drought-affected districts, while other party leaders and office-bearers will also travel across Gujarat.
‘Chalo Gandhinagar’ Protest on October 2
The next major phase of the campaign is scheduled for October 2, coinciding with Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary. Gadhvi announced that a “Chalo Gandhinagar” programme would be organised in Gandhinagar on the day.
The party plans to present the government with a large collection of applications and signatures gathered from farmers and livestock owners. Gadhvi said the documents would be used to press the government to provide appropriate relief and compensation to affected families.
Movement to Continue Until Relief Is Received
Gadhvi said the Dushkal Ghoshna Satyagraha would continue until financial assistance reaches the bank accounts of eligible farmers.
He also said the party would give the government an opportunity to act after Plan B. If the government does not declare drought in the affected areas or address the demands, AAP will move towards Plan C, he said.
Gadhvi further said that instead of waiting only for government surveys, the party would submit applications collected directly from farmers to highlight their concerns.

Manoj Sorathiya Criticises Gujarat Government
AAP Gujarat organisation general secretary Manoj Sorathiya also spoke during the protest and questioned the government’s response to the problems faced by farmers and livestock owners.
Sorathiya said the demand of the protesters was primarily for a formal drought declaration so that relief measures could be initiated for affected communities. He alleged that farmers in Saurashtra were facing serious difficulties and that their concerns needed to reach the state capital.
Sorathiya also launched sharp political criticism against the BJP government, accusing it of failing to adequately address public concerns. These remarks were part of the AAP leaders’ political criticism of the state government.
Payal Sakariya Raises Questions Over Farmers’ Condition
AAP Gujarat Mahila Morcha president Payal Sakariya also addressed the gathering and spoke about the challenges facing farmers.
Sakariya questioned why farmers continue to protest for their demands despite working throughout the year. She said farmers often expect better returns for their crops but can face lower prices when they reach the market.
She also criticised BJP leaders over what she described as a gap between election-time outreach and attention to public issues after elections. Sakariya questioned why farmers, students and young people repeatedly have to take to the streets to raise their concerns.
AAP Plans Wider Village-Level Campaign
The Dushkal Ghoshna Satyagraha is now set to move beyond the initial protest and into villages across the affected talukas. AAP says its teams will meet farmers, collect applications and document local concerns before presenting them to the government.
The party has indicated that the October 2 Gandhinagar programme will be a key point in the campaign. If its demands remain unaddressed, AAP has said it will announce the next course of action under Plan C.
The Dushkal Ghoshna Satyagraha has therefore entered a wider mobilisation phase, with the party seeking greater participation from farmers and livestock owners across Gujarat.
