Punjab’s Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana third installment will benefit 36.87 lakh women, with ₹1,262.54 crore to be transferred directly to bank accounts.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is set to release the third installment of the Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana in Goindwal Sahib today. Under this installment, financial assistance will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of nearly 36.87 lakh women across the state.
According to the information provided by the government, a total of ₹1,262.54 crore will be transferred to 3,687,677 beneficiaries under the latest installment. The scheme was introduced to provide financial support to women and promote their economic empowerment.
36.87 Lakh Women to Receive Financial Assistance
The third installment will benefit 36,87,677 women, with the money being deposited directly into their registered bank accounts.
The government says that the scheme has so far covered around 73.99 lakh women. Across the first two installments, approximately ₹2,562.33 crore has already been transferred to beneficiaries.
Different Assistance for Different Categories
The financial support provided under the Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana varies according to the beneficiary category.
Women from the general category: ₹3,000
Women belonging to Scheduled Castes: ₹4,500
The initiative is aimed at providing financial assistance to women while strengthening their economic independence.
Bhagwant Mann to Release Third Installment in Goindwal Sahib
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will release the latest installment during an event in Goindwal Sahib.
The programme is expected to highlight the government’s initiatives focused on women and the expansion of welfare schemes across Punjab.
Funds to Be Transferred Directly to Bank Accounts
The installment amount will be credited directly to eligible beneficiaries’ bank accounts. The direct-transfer mechanism is intended to make the payment process more convenient and transparent for recipients.
The Punjab government has stated that it plans to bring more eligible women under the scheme and continue using such initiatives to support women’s financial empowerment.
