MCD’s ‘Suniyo 2.0’ scheme offers Delhi property owners relief on old tax dues. Pay eligible dues for 2019-20 to 2026-27 by December 31, 2026.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has introduced the ‘Suniyo 2.0 – One Plus Seven’ scheme for the financial year 2026-27. The initiative gives eligible property taxpayers an opportunity to clear specified outstanding dues without paying interest or penalties on older liabilities. The scheme will remain open from September 29 to December 31, 2026.
Which Property Tax Dues Are Covered?
Under the amnesty scheme, taxpayers are required to pay the principal property tax amount for the current financial year 2026-27 along with the principal dues for the previous seven financial years, covering 2019-20 to 2025-26.
Once the required tax for all eight financial years is paid, eligible taxpayers can receive a waiver on property tax dues from periods before 2019-20, including applicable interest and penalties, subject to the conditions laid down by the MCD.
Part-Payment Facility for Higher Tax Liabilities
The MCD has also included a part-payment option for taxpayers whose total outstanding tax liability is Rs 5 lakh or more.
Eligible property owners can pay their dues through equal instalments during the scheme period, provided they meet the conditions prescribed under the amnesty programme.
Facility to Correct Property Tax Assessment
The scheme also provides taxpayers an opportunity to seek correction of an incorrect property tax assessment.
According to the scheme details, eligible taxpayers can request corrections within two months or before the scheme’s closing date, whichever comes earlier.
This provision could help property owners resolve assessment-related discrepancies while taking advantage of the amnesty programme.

Pending Court Cases Can Also Be Covered
Property owners involved in ongoing property tax litigation may also choose to participate in the scheme. However, taxpayers with pending cases will have to submit the required undertaking and withdraw the relevant litigation in accordance with the scheme’s conditions.
MCD Appeals to Property Owners
MCD Mayor Parvesh Wahi has urged property owners and taxpayers to use the opportunity to clear their eligible dues before the December 31 deadline.
The civic body has also established a dedicated helpline at +91-7065064988 to assist taxpayers with queries related to the scheme.
Taxpayer Facilitation Camps to Be Organised
To increase awareness about the programme, MCD is organising taxpayer facilitation camps through its zonal offices.
These camps will be conducted in coordination with Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), group housing societies, market associations, chambers of commerce and business organisations.
The ‘Suniyo 2.0 – One Plus Seven’ scheme is aimed at helping eligible property owners settle specified outstanding tax liabilities while allowing the civic body to improve property tax collection.
