Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Election 2026 dates revised as the first three phases move earlier due to Dhanteras, while the fourth phase remains unchanged.
The schedule for the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Election 2026 has been revised ahead of the upcoming local body polls. The Rajasthan State Election Commission has moved the voting dates for the first three phases forward by one day in view of Dhanteras, which falls on November 6.
Under the revised schedule, voting for Panch and Sarpanch posts will no longer take place on November 6. The fourth phase, however, will continue according to the previously announced timetable.
First Phase Voting on October 24
The first phase of the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Election 2026 has been brought forward by a day. Panch and Sarpanch polling, which was earlier scheduled for October 25, will now take place on October 24.
Polling parties for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti member elections will leave on October 21, with voting scheduled for October 22. The nomination process for Panch and Sarpanch posts will take place on October 23, followed by voting on October 24.

Second Phase Voting on October 30
The second phase has also been advanced by one day. Panch and Sarpanch elections in this phase will now be held on October 30 instead of October 31.
Polling parties will be deployed on October 27, while voting for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members will take place on October 28. Panch and Sarpanch nominations will be held on October 29, followed by polling on October 30. The election for Up-Sarpanch will be conducted on October 31.
Third Phase Voting on November 5
The third phase has seen a similar change. Panch and Sarpanch polling has been shifted from November 6 to November 5.
Under the revised programme, polling parties will depart on November 2, while elections for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members will be held on November 3. Nominations for Panch and Sarpanch posts will take place on November 4, followed by voting on November 5.
The Up-Sarpanch election in this phase will still be held on November 6.
Why Were the Election Dates Changed?
The changes to the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Election 2026 schedule were made because November 6 coincides with Dhanteras. Requests had reportedly been made by political parties, organisations and members of the public to avoid holding Panch and Sarpanch polling on the festival.
The Election Commission subsequently revised the first three phases by moving the relevant election activities forward by one day.
Fourth Phase Schedule Remains Unchanged
There has been no change in the fourth phase of the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Election 2026. As per the existing programme, voting for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members will take place on November 14, while Panch and Sarpanch polling will be held on November 16.
The change in the first three phases means candidates contesting those stages will have one fewer day for campaigning compared with the earlier schedule.
No General Voting for Up-Sarpanch on November 6
An important point is that ordinary voters do not directly participate in the Up-Sarpanch election. The post is elected by the elected Panchs of the concerned Gram Panchayat.
Therefore, while the Up-Sarpanch election remains scheduled for November 6 in the third phase, general voters will not need to visit polling stations for that election.
With the revised timetable, the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Election 2026 will proceed in four phases, with the first three adjusted around Dhanteras and the fourth phase continuing as originally scheduled.
