AAP has accused the BJP-led Delhi government of a ₹650 crore health scam, alleging irregularities in medicine procurement and medical equipment purchases.

Party leaders staged a protest outside Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital, alleging corruption in the procurement of medicines and medical equipment.

Saurabh Bharadwaj Questions Government’s Actions
Senior AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged that an investigation into a purported ₹650 crore procurement scam had already been initiated by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). He questioned why the alleged key accused, Rajeev Rangeela, was not arrested sooner, claiming that delays in action allowed him to leave the country.
Bharadwaj also raised concerns about administrative accountability, asking who authorized key appointments and procurement powers if officials linked to the controversy were already facing allegations.
Questions Raised Over ORS Procurement
AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar accused the government of purchasing certain medical supplies at prices significantly higher than market rates. He specifically referred to the procurement of Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) packets and alleged that products available at lower rates elsewhere were purchased at inflated costs.
According to him, such practices have placed an unnecessary financial burden on the public healthcare system and raised concerns about transparency in procurement procedures.
Claims of Discrepancies in Purchase Records
Another AAP leader, Sanjeev Jha, alleged discrepancies between procurement records and actual purchases. He claimed that a substantial portion of the reported expenditure did not match the supplies delivered, raising concerns about possible financial irregularities.
Jha further pointed to shortages of medicines, deteriorating hospital infrastructure, and challenges faced by patients at government hospitals as evidence that the healthcare system requires urgent attention.

The allegations have sparked a fresh political confrontation in the national capital. AAP has demanded a thorough and transparent investigation into the matter, while also seeking accountability from the authorities responsible for healthcare procurement.
