iPhone 15
For the iPhone 15 series, the company has updated the battery cycle lifespan statistics in its battery and performance support manual.
The iPhone 15 series has a longer battery life than earlier versions, according to an announcement from Apple. The Cupertino-based tech giant’s updated literature indicates that the iPhone 15 series may hold 80 percent of its battery life after twice as many rounds of charging as its predecessors. The upcoming iOS 17.4 update will also allow the newest smartphone models to provide battery “health” in the Settings app in addition to charge cycle data.
Updated battery cycle lifespan data for the iPhone 15 series, which was announced last autumn, has been included by the firm to its battery and performance support document, which was made available to MacRumors. According to the report, “Batteries of iPhone 15 models are designed to retain 80 per cent of their original capacity at 1000 complete charge cycles under ideal conditions.”
Given that batteries naturally deteriorate with time, the news of their increased longevity is definitely encouraging. This is particularly significant because, in less than a year of use, owners of the iPhone 14 have started to notice unanticipated decreases in battery health.
Apple does, however, also claim that after 500 charging cycles, the iPhone 14 and previous versions will retain 80% of its battery capacity.

The 1,000 cycle goal is presently being promoted by Apple on iOS and its website, with the statement that it is possible in “ideal conditions.” This is not the same as their earlier advertisements, in which they claimed 500 cycles under “normal conditions.” “Ideal conditions” has now taken the role of “normal conditions,” even when discussing previous iterations of the iPhone.
To obtain comprehensive battery information, such as the date of manufacture, the date of first usage, and the number of charging cycles, on an iPhone 15 series smartphone, go to “Settings” and choose General > About.
The iPhone 14 and previous devices do not provide these details. These battery information will be featured in a new area of the Settings app with the impending iOS 17.4 update, which is anticipated to roll out in the next few days.
