Akasa Air: The airline currently runs 87 flights from the state, and in six months, it hopes to reach 100 weekly flights.

Akasa Air is planning to increase its operations in Uttar Pradesh (UP) eighteen months after its launch, with a goal of operating 100 flights weekly.
The airline currently runs 87 flights from the state, and in six months, it hopes to reach 100 weekly flights. At the moment, the airline serves five cities: Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Varanasi, and Lucknow. It also serves important metropolises throughout the nation. In order to meet the increased demand for air travel on these routes from both business and leisure visitors, Akasa Air also operates one-stop flights (via Mumbai) connecting Lucknow and Varanasi with three overseas destinations, including Doha (Qatar), Riyadh, and Jeddah (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).

There are now 24 aircraft in Akasa Air’s fleet, and before the end of the year, the company aims to add 8 more. Boeing has been ordered by it for 224 aircraft, which will be delivered over the course of eight to ten years. “Our company’s ambitious growth plan reflects its commitment to providing more travel options and improving service frequency for passengers in UP,” stated Praveen Iyer, co-founder and chief commercial officer of Akasa Air.
