Addressing the issue of Bhakra Dam, Barinder Goyal said the structure’s tilting was already included in its original drawing and design. He used the point to challenge the opposition’s understanding of the technical aspects associated with the dam.
Goyal maintained that such technical matters should be discussed on the basis of facts rather than political allegations.
Punjab Mining Secured First Position in Centre’s Survey
The minister Barinder Goyal also highlighted Punjab’s performance in the mining sector. According to Goyal, Punjab secured the first position in a survey conducted by the Centre.

He presented the achievement as an indication of the state government’s efforts to improve the mining sector and make better use of Punjab’s available natural resources.
Potash Exploration Begins in Punjab
Another major point raised by Goyal was Punjab’s potash reserves. The minister alleged that previous governments did not pay sufficient attention to the state’s potential potash resources.
Goyal said that efforts made by the Bhagwant Mann government have now resulted in the beginning of drilling activities to explore potash deposits in Punjab.

According to the minister, the exploration could help Punjab better understand the availability and potential of its mineral resources.
