Chhattisgarh Farmers : The state government is making continuous efforts for the economic empowerment and continuous progress of the silk farmers of the state. In this connection, a study group of 100 silk farmers of the state studied the advanced technology of sericulture established in Wardha, Maharashtra.These silk farmers were given technical training on soil, plants, vermiculture, equipment for vermiculture, irrigation etc.
Farmers from Chhattisgarh, after training in Wardha, Maharashtra, said in a very happy mood that by coming to Wardha, they have learned the trick of earning more income in less time through sericulture. Now in Chhattisgarh also, they will use these new techniques for vermiculture and preparation of cocoons, so that they can produce high quality silk and earn good income in the market.It is noteworthy that the farmers were selected by the state government for silk expansion under the Silk Samagra Scheme and were sent on a study tour to Wardha in Maharashtra.Silk Samagra Scheme is being run by the State Government through the Central Silk Board. Silk farmers are earning income ranging from Rs 66 thousand to Rs 1 lakh in just 26 days.
It is noteworthy that the selected farmers of Chhattisgarh state were given an overview of the work of farmers who are earning more income by producing silk composite in Wardha district of Maharashtra.During the session, information was received about discussions with farmers, progressive work being done by them and arrangements for technical works. Similarly, precautions, scientific measures for silkworm rearing work,All the topics like production, market system, process of payment, receipt of funds and work plans for the coming years and participation of women in this work, income earning etc. were discussed.
