Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav visited Rani Durgavati memorial at Narrai Nala in Jabalpur on the occasion of 462nd martyrdom day of the valiant Queen of the Gondwana Empire. He offered prayers and paid floral tribute to the brave queen on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was accompanied by Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh, Public Health Engineering Minister Smt. Sampatiya Uikey, Rajya Sabha MP Smt. Sumitra Valmiki, MP Shri Ashish Dubey, Mayor Shri Jagat Bahadur Singh Annu, MLAs Shri Sushil Kumar Tiwari Indu, Ashok Rohani, Santosh Varkade, Dr. Abhilash Pandey and Neeraj Singh.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav garlanded the statue of the Queen at the memorial, amidst chants of “Rani Durgavati Amar Rahein”,. He also offered floral tribute to her son, Veer Narayan, and performed rituals to honor Baradev, the revered deity of the tribal community.
Tribal Welcome and Cultural Participation
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav greeted members of the tribal community gathered at the memorial earlier. He was warmly welcomed by Baiga tribal dance troupes from Mohgaon (Mandla district) and Karanjia (Dindori district), who performed traditional Baiga and Karma dances in tribute to Rani Durgavati.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav sat on the ground and played the traditional nagara drums along with the performers in a unique and heartfelt gesture. He interacted affectionately with the artists and even clicked selfies with them using his cellphone.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced a reward of Rs 5,000 each as a token of appreciation, for all members of the performing dance troupe.
