Chief Minister Mohan Yadav met Shri Shohei Hara, Senior Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and invited him to invest in hydropower projects in Madhya Pradesh. He highlighted that the state has abundant water resources and well-developed infrastructure, making it an ideal destination for Japanese investment.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav proposed cooperation with JICA on the Madhya Pradesh Rural Water Supply Project, which aims to ensure a stable and safe water supply to the northwestern districts by constructing water treatment plants and related infrastructure.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized the importance of this meeting to strengthen collaboration with JICA in new areas within the state. He suggested that sustainable city models could be developed in key cities like Bhopal, Indore, and Gwalior by leveraging Japanese expertise in urban transport, water management, and smart city projects.
Shri Shohei Hara described the meeting as positive, noting that discussions had taken place on sectors such as electricity, health, and agriculture in Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also outlined plans for infrastructure upgrades, including the development of logistics hubs in industrial zones, the restoration of major river catchment areas like Narmada and Chambal, and the implementation of the Japanese training model to enhance skill development among the state’s youth.
