CM Bhagwant Mann has transformed Punjab farmers into ‘agriculture officers’ with uninterrupted electricity, accessible markets, and instant crop payment facilities.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann recently shared the state government’s efforts for farmer welfare with visiting farmers from Gujarat. According to CM Bhagwant Mann, the government has transformed the way farmers work over the past four years, giving them facilities and support comparable to that of agricultural officers.
Key Initiatives for Farmers
CM Bhagwant Mann emphasized that uninterrupted electricity supply is now ensured for fields throughout the day. With consistent electricity, farmers can now work efficiently from 9 AM to 5 PM, similar to the working hours of government agriculture officers.
He also highlighted that grain markets have been made accessible, with an average distance of just 4 kilometers from most villages. Farmers can sell their crops, arrange transportation, and receive payments on the same day, reducing delays and financial uncertainty.
