CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the State has abundant mineral resources and immense mining potential. Judicious use of these resources will not only boost the State’s economy but also generate local employment and regional development. He said that our government is also laying special emphasis on the balance between mining and environment along with earning revenue from mining in the state. With the excellent coordination of the central and state government, unprecedented work is being done in the field of mining in the state.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma and Union Minister of Coal and Mines Shri G. Kishan Reddy were holding a joint review meeting of the Mines Department at the Chief Minister’s residence on Monday. The Chief Minister said that new mineral blocks should be identified keeping in view the immense mineral wealth potential of the state. Also, the process of auctioning should be expedited. He directed the officials to expedite environmental clearance in the area in coordination with the Central Government so as to ensure time bound mining.
Give wide publicity to mineral wealth to attract investment.
The Chief Minister said that there are 82 types of metallic and non-metallic minerals in the state out of which 57 types of minerals are being exploited. The mineral wealth of the state is precious and rare. In such a situation, this wealth should be widely publicized so that more and more industrialists invest in the state. He said that the rules should be amended as per the need to promote mining innovations by the department. For this, study the work being done by other states in this area.
PM promotes systematic mining of rare minerals
Union Minister of Coal and Mines Shri G. Kishan Reddy said that Rajasthan is a mineral rich state. There is a huge potential for precious and rare minerals. He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is laying special emphasis on systematic and rapid mining of rare minerals to boost the green energy sector in the country. The role of Rajasthan becomes even more important in this direction.
The Union Minister appreciated the efforts being made by the State Government under the leadership of the Chief Minister. He said that Rajasthan is doing remarkable work for transparency, local development and investment attraction in the mining sector. As a result, Rajasthan was recently awarded the first prize for its exemplary performance in the auction of mineral blocks across the country. He directed the officials to work with a pro-active approach to attract more investments in the sector.
Earlier, Principal Secretary Mines Shri T. Ravikant gave a detailed presentation on the major sources of revenue in the mining sector in the State, auction of blocks and mining potential in them, various coal and mines related issues including DMFT, NMET of the State. On the occasion, the Chief Minister presented a memento to the Union Minister. Senior officers of the Central and State Governments were present on the occasion.
