CM Bhajan Lal Sharma attended the tenth meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog, chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi today. Chief Minister Sharma discussed in detail the efforts being made towards fulfilling the resolve of developed Rajasthan in the meeting and also requested for more cooperation from the Central Government to ensure water and energy security in the state.
“Our government is working expeditiously on every aspect to achieve the goal of a developed Rajasthan. In this direction, keeping the focus on economic prosperity, sustainable development and inclusive progress, the ‘Developed Rajasthan @2047’ vision document is being prepared in line with the guidelines of NITI Aayog. Expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for giving shape to the Ram Jal Setu Link Project and the Yamuna Water Agreement, he said that these water projects will play an important role in realising the resolve of a developed Rajasthan.
Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the country got respect in the world through Operation Sindoor.
Referring to Operation Sindoor in his address, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that I express my gratitude and gratitude to the successful Prime Minister of the country Shri Narendra Modi for the respect he has brought to the country on the global stage by showing a strong and courageous stand against terrorism. “We have been deeply inspired by the leadership of the Prime Minister and at the state level, we have become even more determined to extend full support to all initiatives related to national security,” he said. Shri Sharma said that I have never seen such an emotional scene in my life as the amazing enthusiasm and spirit of patriotism that was seen in the public during the address of the Prime Minister in the border district of Bikaner two days ago on May 22. This shows people’s unwavering faith in the Prime Minister.
Rising Rajasthan Summit Gives New Flight to Investments
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that investment in the state is very important to move forward on the path of developed Rajasthan. For this, our government has received investment proposals worth more than 35 lakh crore rupees by successfully organising the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit in the very first year of its tenure and out of these proposals, investment proposals worth more than three and a half lakh crore rupees have started on the ground. He said that our government did excellent work towards inclusive development and employment generation in Rajasthan by formulating One District One Product Policy 2024, MSME Policy 2024, Export Promotion Policy 2024, Integrated Cluster Development Scheme, Textile and Apparel Policy 2025, Logistics Policy 2025, Data Centre Policy 2025. He said that Ease of Doing Business based industrial policy will be released soon in Rajasthan. Through this policy, special focus will be given on research and development to promote green technology. Also, Rajasthan Trade Promotion Policy is being brought for the development and promotion of the trading sector. He said that works worth more than Rs 2000 crore have been initiated to set up 15 industrial zones in the state and 20 new industrial zones have been opened for allotment of plots which will take the industrial growth and development rate of the state to new heights.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that Rajasthan is world famous for its historical heritage and architectural rich culture, glorious history and natural beauty. Tourism is an important contributor to the economy of Rajasthan and a new tourism policy is being released soon to give impetus to tourism development. He said that Atal Entrepreneurship Programme has been launched to encourage the youth of the state to set up startups and become job providers. The Chief Minister said that appointments to more than 67 thousand posts have been made in the state by conducting recruitment exams in a time-bound manner and the process for 1 lakh 87 thousand posts is in various stages.
Rajasthan tops in renewable energy
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that in the direction of making the state self-reliant in the energy sector, our government has taken many important steps in the field of renewable energy. He said that renewable energy capacity has been increased by 10000 MW and Rajasthan ranks first in the country in solar energy and renewable energy capacity. Continuous efforts are being made for better implementation of PM Kusum Yojana, PM Surya Ghar Mukt Bijli Yojana, New Rajasthan Integrated Clean Energy Policy in the state.
Circular economy will be the driver of growth –
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that Rajasthan Circular Economy Incentive Scheme 2025 is being introduced for wide publicity of circular economy under which a grant of Rs. 2 crore will be given for research and development in the field of recycling, reuse. Also, an additional rebate of 0.5 per cent will be provided to MSMEs, Startups working in the field of circular economy in the loan grant being given in various schemes. He said that Rajasthan Vehicle Scrappage Policy is being brought to prohibit the use of vehicles older than 15 years in the state and to encourage the use of new technology pollution-free vehicles.
Requests to the Central Government
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, while requesting the Central Government in the meeting, said that the total filling capacity of the Pong Dam is permissible up to a height of 1400 feet, but even during sufficient rainfall, the maximum extent of water is not being filled in this dam. An early decision should be taken to fill the Pong Dam to its full capacity so that the participating States get their full share of water. He also urged for early grant of approval for lining of 51.5 km long Ferozepur Feeder.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharmaurged that additional units in Kalisindh and Chhabra thermal projects and new thermal unit of 3200 MW be given relaxation for installation in the State as the distance from pit head is more than 500 km. At the same time, he requested to make available 20 lakh metric tonnes of coal being supplied from South Eastern Coalfields from Northern Coalfields.
To improve the energy security in the state, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma urged the Union Government to allocate an additional target of 5000 MWh for power generation and 5000 MWh for battery storage under Component-A of PM KUSUM Yojana. At the same time, he requested immediate preparation of a plan for evacuation of 40 GW additional power to achieve the target of 115 GW power generation allocated to Rajasthan.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma assured the meeting that the State Government is fully committed to fulfil the resolve of making the State a developed State and under the guidance and leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, our Government is taking the State on the path of progress.
