On the directions of CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, the Information and Public Relations Department has issued a notification for the scholarship scheme for higher education for the children of accredited journalists.Budget Announcement Completing the year 2024-25, this scheme has been launched to provide financial assistance to the children of all the authorized journalists of the state to study in national level higher educational institutions.
Important decisions for the welfare of journalists
It is noteworthy that CM Bhajan Lal Sharma has taken important decisions for the welfare of journalists in the past as well.Shri Sharma launched the Rajasthan Journalist Health Scheme (RJHS) for accredited journalists and their families.Under this scheme, authorized journalists and family members will be able to get cashless medical facilities on the lines of RGHS.Relaxing the age limit and experience of independent journalists, the minimum eligibility age was 45 years and the experience of journalism was 15 years.To connect social media influencers with the propagation of public welfare schemes, a new policy has been issued.At the same time, financial assistance was provided to the authorized journalists and dependents from the Journalist and Literary Welfare Fund.
Under the scheme, one of the parents of the applicant student / student is required to be an authorized journalist from the Information and Public Relations Department, Rajasthan. Authorized journalists whose livelihood is entirely dependent on journalism and whose annual income is less than Rs. 5 lakh are eligible to have two children.
Only half of the mandatory non-refundable fees charged by the institutions from the students in the recognized courses of the national level educational institutions i.e. 50 percent of the fees will be reimbursed / paid online through the student’s bank account. The scholarship will be renewed annually if the course is of more than one year duration. The applicant has to apply for the scholarship in the prescribed format along with the required documents at the concerned District Information and Public Relations Office.
