CM Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized that students are the nation’s bright future, and their safety is the state government’s top priority.
CM Bhajanlal Sharma directed that school construction and renovation projects must adhere to the highest quality standards and instructed the appointment of an executing agency in the School Education Department to ensure accountability in such works. On Monday, while reviewing budget announcements related to school, higher, technical, and Sanskrit education at the Chief Minister’s Office, he held detailed discussions on strengthening and expanding academic facilities and services in government schools and colleges across villages, hamlets, and urban areas, and issued necessary directions.
The CM stressed that detailed reports must be sought on dilapidated conditions of institutions built in recent years, with investigations carried out, and continuous monitoring of expenditures on construction and repair works ensured. He made it clear that accountability for substandard work must be a key condition in construction projects.
Expansion of infrastructure as per student strength
He instructed that 20 percent of the funds allowed under the Dang, Magra, and Mewat Regional Development Plans be prioritized for repair works of educational institutions. He also directed officials to expand classrooms and other facilities based on student numbers, and to provide wheelchairs in institutions with significant numbers of specially-abled students.
Solar plants in schools and colleges
Sharma called for an effective plan to install solar power plants on government school and college buildings, which would meet energy needs and strengthen infrastructure. He also directed that dining halls in Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls’ Schools be developed as multipurpose facilities.
Encouraging social participation in education
The CM said that social involvement should be promoted in school construction and repair works. He instructed officials to coordinate with philanthropists and eminent citizens to develop plans for such initiatives. He also reviewed the proposed sports school to be developed at Kherli-Gurjar, Bharatpur, on the model of Netaji Subhash National Institute of Sports, Patiala, and gave directions for its action plan.
Corporate Certification Program & Smart Classrooms
Sharma directed the preparation of a detailed plan for the Corporate Certification Program, ensuring the regular availability of master trainers so that students can receive continuous training. He instructed the Higher Education Department to issue detailed guidelines for the program. He also reviewed the establishment of smart classrooms and ICT labs in selected universities and colleges, stressing proper maintenance of equipment.
Foreign Language Communication Skill Scheme
The CM reviewed the management of certification courses under the Foreign Language Communication Skill Scheme and directed that these courses be made more employment-oriented by enrolling maximum aspirants. He further instructed that exams for these courses must be conducted at training centers to ensure that successful candidates secure employment abroad.
During the meeting, Deputy CM Dr. Premchand Bairwa and Education Minister Madan Dilawar presented to the Chief Minister a certificate from the World Book of Records, London, for planting rare species under the Hariyalo Rajasthan initiative. Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant and senior officials of the concerned departments were also present.
