CM Bhajanlal Sharma: The state government is determined to ensure smooth and adequate water supply to the common people.
CM Bhajanlal Sharma on Monday inspected the saddle dam located upstream of Rana Pratap Sagar Dam in Rawatbhata. During this, he reviewed the progress of the proposed works and gave necessary instructions to the concerned officials.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma was given a detailed briefing by the officials of the Water Resources Department on the project of Rana Pratap Sagar-Brahmani flood protection management and refractory of flood water up to Bisalpur Dam. A plan is underway to divert the surplus water from the Saddle Dam into the Brahmani River and divert it to the upstream of the Bisalpur Dam, officials said. Through this project, maximum utilization of surplus water will be ensured so that water does not go waste.
The project to divert water from Rana Pratap Sagar Dam and Brahmani River to Banas River in Bisalpur Dam is estimated to cost Rs 8,300 crore. Under this scheme, a barrage is proposed to be constructed at Sripura village on Brahmani river. A channel will be developed to carry rainwater from the Saddle Dam to the Banas River. Also, Garadda, Abhayapura and Gudha dams of Bundi district will also be filled with the construction of tunnels in this project.
Commitment to the development of Rawatbhata
CM Bhajanlal Sharma while interacting with the local citizens said that the State Government is actively working towards harvesting and optimum utilization of rainwater. He assured that the Government is fully committed to the overall development of Rawatbhata. Other development works, including expansion of transport facilities, are also being seriously considered.
Chittorgarh MP Shri CP Joshi, MLAs Shri Suresh Dhakad and Shri Srichand Kripalani, Additional Chief Secretary Water Resources Shri Abhay Kumar along with other senior officers and dignitaries were present on the occasion.
