CM Bhajanlal Sharma will visit Hanumangarh and Sriganganagar districts of the State on 8th and 9th April. Shri Sharma will review the implementation of budget announcements related to other departments including Water Resources and Energy Department in these districts, launch procurement of mustard on MSP and interact with farmers.
CM Bhajanlal Sharma will reach Hanumangarh on April 8. He will inspect Lakhuwali Head, Ghaggar Diversion Channel and Ghaggar River. During the discussion on the Finance and Appropriation Bill 2025-26, the Chief Minister announced to take up flood protection works in the downstream area of Ghaggar river at a cost of Rs 325 crore. He will also interact with farmers belonging to Bhakra canal area in Hanumangarh.
CM Bhajanlal Sharma will launch the procurement of mustard at MSP and interact with farmers and traders at a programme to be held at New Dhanmondi in Sriganganagar district on April 9. The State Government is committed to improve the standard of living of the farmers and to ensure remunerative prices for their produce. With the decision of the government to give an additional bonus of Rs 150 per quintal on the MSP of wheat, the procurement of pulses and oilseeds crops in Kharif season 2024 has been done at a cost of more than Rs 4,700 crore. Registration for procurement of mustard and gram for Rabi season 2025-26 has also started.
The Chief Minister will take stock of Shivpur Head in Sriganganagar itself. After this, he will visit Suratgarh in the district and inspect the Super Thermal Power Station and take stock of the power generation works. Apart from this, necessary guidelines will also be given to the officials concerned.
On April 8, CM Bhajanlal Sharma will conduct an aerial survey of Mallewala Head, Ballewala Head, Bikaner Canal, Ferozepur Feeder and Indira Gandhi Canal, besides inspecting Harike Head in Punjab. After this, he will also inspect Lohgarh Head in Haryana. It may be recalled that in the State Budget 2024-25, it was announced to develop a SCADA system at a cost of Rs 23 crore for better operation of Indira Gandhi Main Canal and to provide the state’s share of water under Ferozepur Feeder at a cost of Rs 200 crore.
